Job Description

As Material Control Entry, you will efficiently ensure the availability of required materials in the right quantities and their timely delivery to support the delivery schedules of plant and overseas plants. You will monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and follow defined escalation procedures in case of deviations.

This role is located with our client in the Greenville, SC area.

Responsibilities

  • Controls supply level and plans stock of the correct quantity of parts in the correct time, while following the logistics standards related to inventory levels on hand.
  • Monitors and secures on-time delivery to client’s locations.
  • Serves as the point of contract for assigned suppliers and related transportation service providers.
  • Performs basic data processing and parameter administration in the material planning system.
  • Supports series production, parts run-in & run-out and participates in the implementation of technical changes, including minimization of obsolescence costs.
  • Maintains monthly supplier ratings and quarterly LPKM (supplier competence and performance management) rating information.
  • Participates in internal projects with material control process partners.
  • Understands and models VPA (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field OR the equivalent of 4 years of professional experience in material planning or related function.
  • 1+ years of experience in material planning, or 6 months of participation in a co-op/internship in a material planning role.
  • 3+ years of computer skills to include MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • 3+ years of interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • 6+ months knowledge of SAP or other ERP software (preferably with an emphasis in Material Planning).
  • 6+ months of knowledge of logistics processes in the supply chain.
