Job Description

As Controls Planner Specialist you will manage project planning, installation, start-up, and acceptance, as well as provide engineering support for new installations and optimization measures. The individual will collaborate with internal customers and external suppliers to plan and implement measures, ensuring optimal solutions in terms of cost, quality, ergonomics, technical innovation, and the environment. You will be responsible for cost estimation, technical specifications, and coordinating the bidding process.

Responsibilities

  • Define standards and best practices for controls technology in assembly
  • Evaluate concepts and drive necessary changes according to company standards
  • Plan and implement measures in collaboration with internal customers and external suppliers
  • Determine optimal solutions considering cost, quality, ergonomics, technical innovation, and the environment
  • Provide cost estimation and technical specifications
  • Coordinate the bidding process and evaluate offers
  • Plan and execute high-complexity projects
  • Collaborate with vendors, customers, and management teams
  • Develop and implement equipment countermeasures to improve reliability
  • Ensure equipment controls design achieves 98% uptime
  • Ensure assigned countermeasures are developed on schedule and effective
  • Ensure assigned projects are on schedule and within budget
  • Adhere to VPS principles, standard work, and problem-solving concepts
  • Adhere to 5S and safety standards

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred) or the equivalent of 4 years of engineering experience in the automotive industry
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering environment (automotive process or automotive manufacturing).
  • 3+ years of Project Management including experience with structural modification measures in several equipment and/or controls planning projects
  • Advanced experience in controls and equipment (PLC Alan Bradley AND/OR Siemens S7; E-Plan), in assembly
  • 3+ years problem investigation & data analysis experience
  • 2+ years cross functional communication experience
  • 1+ years experience using Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Ability to use and apply statistical methods to aid with process
