Job Description

As a Fixed Assets Specialist, you will interface with project leads regarding investment requisitions and the analysis of actual investments versus budget, in compliance with client Group Guidelines, IFRS accounting standards, and Group tangible asset targets (including analysis of plant investment spending against target levels). You will also analyze and maintain fixed asset information for the plant.

This role is located with our client in the Greenville, SC area.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares all aspects of fixed asset reporting (depreciation, investment, capitalization) and accounting for business plan, month-end, forecast, year-end, and insurable values.
  • Monitors and reports depreciation expense relative to budget and forecasts.
  • Capitalizes and records fixed asset information (including supplier tooling) for the Plant, including year-end accrual analysis.
  • Processes asset inventory transactions including asset transfers, periodic disposal requests, and serves as the lead contact for model year run outs.
  • Provides required information to the U.S. Subsidiary Tax Department.
  • Monitors property tax process to meet reporting and payment deadlines including understanding of FILOT (Fee In Lieu of Tax) requirements.
  • Reviews and decisions lease requests and performs lease vs purchase analyses.
  • Reconciles and records leases monthly in SAP ensuring all new leases have investment funding, are entered into the INNOSYS lease database, and are recorded to a cost collector.
  • Ensures all invest lease depreciation forecasting is summarized and provided to the Group Controlling Department.
  • Conducts asset counts, assigns asset tags, and reports KPI metrics to management.
  • Performs annual useful life reviews on in-house assets, validates findings with the departments, and updates the asset master and classes as needed.
  • Reviews and reconciles capital in progress (CIP) accounts as needed.
  • Prepares and revises policies and procedures for in-house fixed assets.
  • Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree Business, Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in financial analysis/accounting.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in fixed asset accounting. (preferred)
  • 2+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • 5+ years of MS Office skills (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Access PowerPoint, & Outlook). 5+ years of communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • 3+ years of ability to initiate improvements.
  • 3+ years of ability to work collaboratively. 3+ years of project management skills. (preferred).
  • 3+ years of analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • 3+ years of SAP systems knowledge (preferred).
  • Basic German language skills (preferred).
