Volke Technical Developments
Volke Munich offers its customers engineering services for the development of new technological solutions at the Volke development center on-site. We focus on the automotive field where Volke is involved in all processes of vehicle development – from the idea to the first design draft to supervision of serial production. Other focal points are mechanical engineering as well as energy and transportation technology from rail traffic to aerospace travel.

Volke refers back to more than 50 years of company history. Here are the most important stations of our success story.
- 1968Engineer Martin D. Volke founded an engineering firm for technical developments in mechanical engineering and aerospace technology in Munich – Volke Consulting Engineers GmbH & Co. Planungs
- 1970Expansion of the product range to automotive technology, electrical engineering, electronics, technical documentation and industry-graphics
- 1978First order from BMW AG
- 1978Foundation of Volke Entwicklungsring GmbH in Wolfsburg for development in vehicle construction
- 1982Construction of workshops for design models and prototypes in Sauerlach, south of Munich
- 1984Foundation of the energy and automation technology specialization firm in Erlangen
- 1992Foundation of FES GmbH Fahrzeug-Entwicklung Sachsen in Zwickau, out of the main development department of Sachsenring automotive factory
- 1993Foundation of the Czech subsidiary for vehicle development in Mlada Boleslav
- 1997Foundation of Autoentwicklungsring Sachsen GmbH
- 1999Foundation of the location in Ergolding, a few kilometers from the BMW sites in Landshut and Dingolfing
- 2000Opening of the location in Greer (South Carolina, USA) close to the BMW works in Spartanburg
- 2004Foundation of a second US location for vehicle testing in Oxnard, California
- 2005Opening of the 8,330 sqm design studios in Munich
- 2007Construction of new workshops in Munich with a total area of 4,600 sqm
- 2008Start of construction on a 6,692 sqm office complex in Munich, completed in March 2009
- 2009Move into the new administration and development building
- 2011Expansion of the design studios with their own milling area
- 2012Expansion of exclusive design studios through purchasing a 5-axis milling machine as well as a chrome plating unit
- 2013Planning the expansion of infrastructure in the workshop area
- 2014Building plan and start of the new Multifunktionshalle in Schätzweg 13 and 15 (9,000 m²), to be completed in autumn 2015. The workshop area at Nordring 30 moves on 1 June 2014.
